Types of Complete Dentures

Dentures are a great way to get your smile back. There are two different types of complete dentures: custom fit or implant supported. Both are designed to look natural and comfortable. There are also partial dentures designed to fill in missing spaces between natural teeth. A partial denture is designed to come in and out and needs to be cleaned regularly like a complete denture.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between complete and partial dentures?

Complete dentures replace all of the missing teeth in an arch. For example, if someone is missing all of their top teeth, they could benefit from having a complete denture made to replace all of their upper teeth. Partial dentures fit around the remaining teeth in the arch and replace missing teeth. Simply put – If you have some teeth remaining, you would benefit from a partial denture. If you have no teeth remaining, you would benefit from a complete denture.

How long do dentures last?

Most complete and partial dentures require replacement every 5 to 10 years with minor adjustments along the way.

How do I clean dentures?

After you receive your complete or partial dentures from Flossen Family Dental, we will send you home with supplies for keeping your dentures clean. This includes a soft denture brush, denture case, and denture cleaning tablets. We recommend rinsing your dentures after meals, brushing daily with a soft brush and non-abrasive denture cleaner, and soaking your dentures overnight.

What are the benefits of an implant-supported denture?

Implant-supported dentures are especially beneficial for the lower jaw. The additional support of the implants helps prevent your lower denture from falling out while talking and eating.
