Clear aligners are a great clear and comfortable alternative to traditional braces. We want to make you feel happy about your smile. At your next appointment ask us about the next steps for clear aligners treatment. 

Initial Appointment:  

Includes:  

• All necessary x-rays - bitewings and panoramic 
• Digital scan of teeth 
• A series of photos that help us determine treatment needed 

Treatment Plan Design:  

Once the case has been completely set up we will schedule an appointment to show you the process/outcome of the treatment. We then discuss any changes that the patient would like and talk about whether or not I believe the changes can reliably be done or not.   

Start Treatment:  

This first appointment is when the clear attachments are bonded to your teeth and we practice taking the trays in and out. I then discuss how often I will have you switch trays. It is important to note to NEVER throw away a set of trays until treatment is completed. We may need to go back to a certain week of trays if teeth are not tracking correctly. We will also discuss home care and how to take care of the clear aligners.  

Regular Checkups:  

We will schedule appointments every 4-6 weeks to make sure teeth are moving and tracking with the aligners.

What are the advantages of clear aligners? 

There are many advantages to clear aligners. They are a discreet option as opposed to traditional braces. They are also custom made to provide a comfortable fit. They are also beneficial for your oral health since you are able to remove the clear aligners. It allows you to brush and floss easier than if you had traditional braces. Since the treatment is personalized to you it leads to predictable results efficiently.  

Will clear aligners affect my speech? 

Your speech may be affected for the first couple of days as you get used to wearing the clear aligners, but once you get used to them your speech will return to normal.  

Are clear aligners effective for all kinds of alignment concerns?  

Clear aligners are beneficial for many different alignment issues including crowding, gaps, openbites, underbites and crossbites. Once we review your case we will discuss the complexity and address if other orthodontic interventions are needed.
